Leo works primarily as a cinematographer or camera operator on documentaries and short fiction, including The Shutdown. In 2008 Leo went to Italy to film “Archive of Dreams” (dir. Tomás Sheridan), a G-Mac Shortcuts documentary that won the 2008 Jim Poole Award and the short film prize at the Torino Film Festival. He then took part in the Cine-Train workshop where he joined a group of filmmakers travelling across Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway. He filmed “Russian Playground”, a documentary about children’s play habits in various parts of the country. “Russian Playground” screened in the Critic’s Week in Cannes 2009. Leo also recently directed his first short documentary, Fistful of Roses.
